Reviews of Almond Boat and RV Park"Next time you are planning to spend the day on Fontana Lake, do yourself a favor and rent a boat from the good folks at Almond Boat & RV Park. We're sure glad we did! We called ahead and reserved a pontoon boat for our group of six for seven hours. When we arrived that morning, the wonderfully sweet owner asked if we wanted to upgrade to a new boat and, of course, we did. We spent the day in a sparkling clean 2012 Godfrey Sweetwater that had a Honda 75 four-stroke engine. Except for lunchtime and a few swim breaks, we rode around all day and only used about a half of a tank of gas, including the time we were running wide open to outrun thunderstorms. It was definitely worth the extra $50 to upgrade to the new boat. Be sure you have cash to pay for your gas at the end of the day. There is an ice machine and a drink machine at the dock but nothing in the way of snacks or sundries, so make sure you have everything you need for your day on the lake. The public bathroom by the office is very clean. If you'd like to camp at Almond, you can park your RV but there is no tent camping allowed. They also have cabin rentals available. If memory serves, they charge a $5 launch fee if you have your own boat. You can also buy a used life jacket for $5.Almond is the perfect place to start a fun day on tranquil and picturesque Fontana Lake. I hope you will give these kind people your business."
